Bereavement support payment

A friend recently told me about the Bereavement support payments and allowance and was just looking for advice as the rules and eligibility criteria are confusing for me! I know there's lots of different rules for different situations.
My co habiting partner died June 2020 and at that time and still now I'm claiming child benefit for my 2 children, who at the time were 10 and 12. I am under state pension age as I know that counts. He worked full time so N.I contributions will be fine. If anyone knows and understands the rules would I be eligible for any help with the One off payment or monthly payments?
Thanks in advance

From what you've said I think you would be eligible. Have a read here. The deadline to apply and receive backdated payments, if eligible, is the 8th February.

From what you have said, you do meet the eligibility criteria. As KaMelo has said above the deadline to apply is the 8th February so you need to act quickly to get your claim in. You can claim by phone or online. It's a good backdated lump sum you should be entitled to. Get either that phone call or online application made. It could make a huge difference for you and your children.0
