Boiler Rights in New Home

Do I have any rights on this or do I just take the hit?
I purchased a home 6 months ago. The previous owner had a Worcester boiler installed on 15/4/21 by British Gas.

In the paperwork left, I can see the guarantee is for 60 months and a condition is that it’s serviced annually. I have paperwork for Feb 2023 but nothing before.
I’ve tried to make a Bosch account and put in the serial number to search for products at the address. It found the old boiler but not this one. I have no idea if they registered it (the paperwork says the installer should have done)
I have an issue with it and a friend (who is a gas safe boiler engineer) took a look and suspects that limescale has got in the boiler. After viewing the documents, the installer has ticked that the area is not hard water and a filter wasn’t fitted. This, however, is in a hard water area and the water reports from South Staffs (my provider) confirm that.
Two issues:
1. It’s installed incorrectly 3 years ago by the previous owner so where do I stand with this?
2. This was installed by the previous homeowner. Does this switch to me?
I'm not sure what to do. The boiler still works but I’ve been having intermittent issues.

Hope that makes sense! Thank you.

TBH, as you did not purchase the boiler, you have no comeback on it.Life in the slow lane0

You don’t have any consumer rights as these lie with the original purchaser. We couldn’t tell you if you have any rights under the warranty as it completely depends on the terms. Warranties can have any terms they like. If that says it has to be registered, then it has to be registered. If it says the warranty isn’t transferable, then that would also be the end.0

If you wanted to check the condition of the boiler or the terms of any warranty or servicing history, the time to do that was during the conveyancing (so this is more of a house-buying question really).0

I thought that would be the case. Thanks for clarifying!1

When there was no trace of my guarantee on the websote I contacted them on Facebook-( during chritsmas/NewYear holidays.)
They were able to trace the guarantee from the details from my name and address.1 -
What's the issue with the boiler? Unlikely to be limescale if it's so new. Is it a combi?
If it's not even a combi then limescale shouldn't be any issue at all anyway.0 -

You probably won't find anything regarding boiler service in 2022 from British Gas. They cancelled many services completely and gave a measly refund of something around £65 if memory serves correctly. The problem that creates is even if the manufacturers honoured the warranty for 3 years, it would be void because no annual service was carried out.
