Victorian Plumbing

I was having my bathroom renovated. I ordered a bluetooth Mirror with speakers, from Victorian Plumbing. I was away when the package arrived and my builders installed the mirror. On my return I noticed that the mirror was not the one I ordered. I have spoken to Victorian Plumbing and they refuse to change the mirror for the one I ordered. They are saying on packaging nor exchange.
is this correct? I have paid £496 and not received what the company said I should get.
any help please.

I guess by opening and installing you've "accepted" the goods - did the builders install without your permission?
  • I would think that would only matter if it was a change of mind - this is an item that clearly does not match the description and the CRA doesn't require the customer to keep the packaging... though I agree it would have helped :)

    A few questions:

    1. What have you been charged for?  The incorrect mirror, or the one you ordered?
    2. What's the price difference between the two?
    3. Would you be happy to keep the installed mirror, assuming any price difference is corrected?
    4. What does installation involve?  A couple of screws and wiring-in, or something more complex?
    5. Had you authorised the builder to install in your absence?

As a general point, it's usually always better to ask someone to supply and fit, because any mistakes like these are down to the installer to sort out.

There's no concept of acceptance under the CRA :)

OP if your invoice shows A and they've sent B the ins and outs really don't matter, you are entitled to a replacement if not a full refund. (If it's less than 30 days you can insist upon a refund via the short term right to reject, if after 30 days you have the right to a replacement, if they fail to meet that obligation then again reject for a full refund).
