British gas overcharging (blamed on old billing system)

Hello,
Like you, we are currently still trying to sort out a significant overcharge from last year (7.10.23 - 29.11.23).
A ridiculous overcharge amounting to more than we would pay for over 2 years of our normal usage.
After our 3rd call to complaints about this gross error, we received a new paper bill for just over half of the original overcharge amount that they wanted and the estimated usage for this new amount had also somehow magically changed as well!!
Then, to add insult to injury, on our latest call made to sort this problem out with British gas last week (call no 4). We were told to ask for the Old billing system section next time we called as they were the people that should be able to sort this problem out. Really!!
Decided to give up the chase for the weekend. Looking forward to Monday... not. Wish us luck.
