any suggestions for dealing with a mis delivered parcel by Evri?

I've just been hit with the 'your parcel has been delivered' issue with Evri, when I have no parcel. Proof of delivery GPS shows my road, photo of front door does not show my door, nor does it show any door from the entire road nor the local ones (I've just been out to check).

The chat bot on Evri is useless, they will apparently get back to me, but I realise they don't take nay email or phone so how they are going to do that I don't know (although I went through the chat bot again and left my email).

I'm exceedingly cross about this and am not sure where to go next. I obviously can't win an INR so very little point in opening one.

Seller won't be interested as they don't take the loss, It's an ebay purchase and they have proof of postage. If I open an INR it will close against me so I have no leverage against the seller.

  • Local facebook group would be your best bet, or try and collar your deliveryperson. I've had similar a few years ago, there used to be a friendly (hermes at the time) delivery woman that was on local facebook group and I got in touch with her, it wasn't her round but she knew who did it, spoke to them and it was redelivered

I can try asking if anyone knows a local Evri driver, but I can’t see my driver going back to demand the householder give them the parcel back . The photo shows the door open and the parcel being handed over, unfortunately no part of the recipient is visible so I can’t track them down that way.

The local Evri driver also posts on our local Facebook group.  It's worth checking.

I tried that, and a neighbourhood groups but no help. Although I think I may have tracked down the parcel- the photo isn't a door- it was put through someone's open window and Evri have come back and told me where they 'think' courier left it. Unfortunately there's no answer when I knock so the neighbour is probably out, but I'll keep trying.

Managed to track down neighbour who had my parcel- so all is well. No idea why Evri decided to drop it through a neighbours window instead of bringing it to me as I was home- but at least I have my parcel now.

Yes, I do have a suggestion. Avoid Evri. I always ask the seller who their courier is. Evri (previously Hermes) are known for having dodgy business practices.

I had a considerably worse experience with Royal Mail last year which I documented on here- 3 parcels mis delivered  , one they even knew where they had taken it - but refused me compensation as the person they delivered it to wouldn't give it back.
