What are my rights (flight cancellations)?

I have booked flights with BA on dates I can't travel. The ticket was a restricted ticket.

Is there any way I can cancel and get my money back? BA say if I don't fly I don't get my money back. If I cancel now however, I get the tax back, less an "admin charge" which means I get a few pennies back which I think sounds like very dodgy business.

I paid for the flights on my AmEx Platinum credit card, is it possible to make a claim via the insurance my card offers?

Not really a lot you can do. Unless you're missing the flight because of ill health or something similar. It's how they make their money on cheap tickets by being non-refundable
