What is a 'draw date?'

I recently asked Telewest to change my Direct Debit to a different date. Presently all my bills go out on the 1st of the month but Telewest goes out on the 6th. I have written to them asking them to change the Direct Debit from the 6th to the 1st of the month which means that it will go out at the same time as the other bills.
However, they have sent me a letter acknowledging my request and have written 'to confirm that the direct debit draw date has been amended to the third of the month'. Does that mean it will leave my account on the 1st as i asked and they will recieve it on the 3rd? Or have they stuffed it up?

We didn't use the term draw date but usually it will be
1st - Collect From your bank acc
2nd - Day at BACS
3rd - Applied to originators account (Telewest in your case)
