Anyone had any experience with curry's warrenty on tvs
55" Oled tv is 18 months old and has developed a fault with the screen
They are collecting it tommorrow hopefully to repair it but they did mention they will give a credit if they cannot repair it
TV was £800 and they no longer sell Philips ambilight oled. If they offer a credit I cannot use it as they have nothing suitable and there's nothing close to £800 anyway
i dont want to be in a suituation where i have store credit and it just sits there as they have nothing suitable and also think they might only offer a portion of the oriiginal payment
if they canot repair it am i in my rights to expect a refund of the full amount to my original payment source?
Anyone had this and what should I expect?

They are entitled to make a deduction for the 18 months you have owned & used the TV.
But is the warranty from Currys?Life in the slow lane0 -

They don't sell Philips oled now.
I'm not wanting to be in a situation where I've hardly used it. And having to spend several hundred more for a tv that's not suited
Philips has ambilight which is what I wanted in a tv. No one else does it0 -
Hello OP
A warranty is based on it's terms so if they state store credit then unfortunately that is the case.
Consumer rights state a refund to the original payment method but allow a deduction for use so if the warranty is refunding in full, albeit via store credit, that might be better.
If warranty isn't a full refund then consumer rights might be better but burden of proof falls upon yourself which would depend on how forthcoming they are about what's wrong with the TV when they inspect it.
Obvious question I guess but nothing else at Currys needed? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -
Nothing needed atm.
Not sure how it's going to play out
Let's hope they fix it then there's no issue0
