I have been getting UC based on my mental health condition , I have tried to keep the account going but it's not working out for me as I can't deal with the things they want me to do , appointments, sick notes , documents ect, I tried my best but I'm just not capable of doing these things on time or at all in some cases.
What happens if are eligible for UC but are disabled by mental illness and can't claim it ?

Is there someone who could become your appointee and manage your claim?

Your UC is not based on your mental health, however your ability to work will be judged on your health. You will need to provide Sick notes and Fit to work notes for a health assessment to kick in.
Have you looked at PIP? It can be a stress and difficult route but there is help out there to claim this, and you can have someone with you supporting your assessment.
I would suggest you try and access further help be that medical via GP, Nurse or the Mental Health Team. Or through the social support side of life either a social worker or mental health charity that might be able to help.
If you chuck the UC away youve got on paper very little and the impact on life, general health and mental health will be massive.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
