Nationwide switch- wages didn’t come across

Made the switch from Halifax to nationwide, switch completed start of January. Wages were to be paid on Monday but have not came in. Halifax account is closed so they can’t trace it, work have said they sent to Halifax. Nationwide said it could take a few days but still isn’t there? I know I should have probably changed the bank details myself with work but this is my first switch and I thought the whole point was it was done for you.
has anyone any experience of this or advice on what to do? I’ve had to borrow money as all my bills have started coming out already. Thanks in advance

It's Nationwide you need to address this with, and it certainly shouldn't "take a few days", the redirection (via a central engine, not via your old bank) should be practically instantaneous. If your have proof from your employer's payroll department that the payment was sent (with any requisite tracking info) then make sure that Nationwide see this and investigate promptly....3

I’m honestly just worried now my my wages are lost. Work definitely paid them via BACS to my halifax account and they have not bounced back yet to them or else they could make an off cycle payment to me but they can’t do that unless they bounce back. Nartionwide said I just have to wait up to 5 working days but no one can seem to see where the money is

As @eskbanker says, it certainly shouldn't take a few days. Nationwide shouldn't be claiming that it will. If I was you, I'd be pushing Nationwide quite hard. You need to talk to someone who knows more about the CASS and its operation than whoever you've been talking to so far.
I've had payments made to sent to one bank after I'd used the CASS to switch to another. This was months after the old account had been closed. They appeared in the right place as close to instantaneously as I could tell.

They repeatedly tell me to wait the 5 working days. I honestly don’t know what will happen after that if my wages aren’t there then0

It looks as if the problem has arisen with the switch. My guess is that whoever handled it didn't set up the payment forwarding correctly. Have you actually spoken to the team that handles switches? Or have you just accepted the fobbing off of a random call centre person who answered the phone?See https://www.currentaccountswitch.co.uk/how-to-switch/ . Click on the "After your switch" tab and you'll see this:

If anything has gone wrong
In the unlikely event that anything goes wrong, your new bank or building society guarantees to refund any interest and charges you incur as a result of a delayed or incorrect switch. It’s all part of the Current Account Switch Guarantee.
I'd say that something has gone wrong here, and you can look to Nationwide to fix it by putting you in the position in which you would have been if it hadn't. If they don't, make a formal complaint of it, and be prepared to take it to the Ombudsman if necessary.

What is included in a full switch:
Regular income like your salary, pension or benefits payments.
Make a formal complaint.5 -
you can check if the switch has been set up currently by sending a small test payment to your old account - it should pretty much instantly be moved across to your new account as the switching engine is centrally based - the banks themselves don't even have to do anything to divert the payment from old to new3

Contact Nationwide again, point out this was done under the CASS scheme and they need to fix it and if necessary give you a free overdraft until it is resolved.0

The small test amount did come through there after a bit of time but still no wages0
