Claim Form: euro car parks ltd

Hello,
I was hoping to receive some honest advice about my situation.
I've received a claim form from parking eye's solicitors (QDR Solicitors Limited) claiming several hundred pounds for a series of parking tickets I received almost 5 years ago at a hospital car park (previous member of staff).
These were accumulated over the course of 2 years for a variety of reasons (mainly working overtime and forgetting to/or too late to top up the pay as you go parking). A few years ago I wrote to head of security of the hospital trust asking that they ask parking eye to drop the charges (at this time I was receiving dozens of threatening letters monthly). They wrote me back saying that parking eye had agreed to drop some, but refused to drop 6. (I didn't understand how if they were acting on behalf of the landowner and the landowner is agreeing to drop charges how they could reject that but I got nowhere and so just stopped writing).
They have since sent a number of letters through a variety of solicitors but to be frank I just binned them.
Now that they have pursued a claim, I am strongly considering just paying (...) because I do not think I have much in scope of a defence. I think what they do is disgusting but I do not believe I have legal ground to fight it. I know hospital car park fines are a fiery subject, especially when it comes down to members of staff who find at the end of a horrid day at work a lovely PCN slapped on their window.. but this is the reality of the situation.
Their signs were clear, payment options working, ... etc.
Additionally I am a very tired human being and the thought of having to do the paperwork +/- make an appearance in court is giving me immense anxiety as I do not think I can balance that with the amount of work I do at the moment...
I just wanted to check your thoughts..

Certainly DO NOT PAY.
This is the highest sum you'd have to pay (even compared to the sum ordered by a Judge if you - unlikely - lost at a hearing) because the claim is hugely exaggerated.
Are they trying to get £182 per PCN?! Laughably disproportionate. The Government called this 'extorting money'.
Or have they said 'full Particulars to follow'?
Show us the claim form, with the Claim Number, MCOL password and the VRM and your data covered up.
At this level of money it is a no-brainer to defend. That is easy (use our Template Defence) and doesn't commit you to a hearing later. You can pay much later (less £££) and decide to walk away at any point, or likely win at the hearing if you see it through. We do win these cases.
Months to go till then and even if you lost you'd pay far less.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What is the Issue Date on the Claim Form?
Is this related to your 2017 thread about parking at St Georges Hospital?
That was all about Car Parking Partnership - another name for Parking Eye.
Others will comment, but if CPP were originally involved, can PE take over the mantle on their behalf?1 -
Ah, Euro Car Parks. My earlier guess was wrong.
So this is probably a development from your 2019 ECP thread. With a Claim Issue Date of 18th January, you have until Tuesday 6th February to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 20th February 2024 to file your Defence. That's almost three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service guidance.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.2 -
You really must delete that Claim Form image immediately.
You have left the Claim Number and MCOL password clearly visible.0 -
It's not ParkingEye.studiousowl said:This is the claim form..
Please edit your confusing thread title or even better, please now revert back to your original thread (if it isn't closed), which we'd prefer for the context.
Reply there with the Claim form BUT properly redacted, like I've done above... oops - I did tell you what to cover up...!
Or get the threads merged by the Forum Team. Then reply there (in a thread not called 'ParkingEye') when the detailed POC arrive next week.
Happy to be corrected but I am pretty sure a claim where it says 'POC TO FOLLOW' does NOT have to be acknowledged yet.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

sorry I have deleted, and made the edit.
the thread from 2019 has been closed to further comments, but I will ask for it to be reopened if that is easier.
To be honest in spite of it being an enormous amount of money what really panicked me in to considering paying upfront is this paragraph on page 2 of the claim form:
"Registration of judgements: if the claim results in a judgement order against you details will be entered in a public register.......They will then be passed to credit reference agencies which will supply them to credit grantors and others seeking information on your financial standing. This will make it difficult for you to get credit..."
Does that mean if I lose it will affect my credit?0 -
No it doesn't! Not even if you lose, because you'd then pay (significantly less than the claim...) and there will be no trace on your credit record. Not a smudge.
We do these all the time and we DON'T put anyone at CCJ risk.
Please read the second post of the NEWBIES thread while you wait for the detailed POC.
Also read the similar thread by @Bellatrix42 who is one of a couple of posters ahead of you this month with QDR full POC already arrived and defended. See from the other QDR threads what the detailed PoC will look like.

Hi sorry I have been hit with a nasty flu after a set of nights that has had me in bed for 2 weeks..
Updates are that I have been sent particulars of claim (dated 2nd Feb)
For 5 parking tickets across Feb/March 2021 they are claiming £300 in parking charges and a further £350 contractual charges incurred in the collection of the debt
I have submitted an Acknowledgement of service and am trying to write up a defence, but struggling a bit with the latter..
I am not sure whether I should appeal all or part admission as I am not sure how to defend my actions
the details of the parking charges are dated and timed with contravention stated as "no valid pay and display purchased for the vehicle"
I would agree to pay a reasonable fee (not £790) for the cost of 5 tickets0 -
