Has Booking.com been hacked again or is it a phishing attack?

Today I received a verification link e-mail from Booking.com. The link points to https:// account.booking.com/ applink/booking etc. etc. etc.
I haven't tried to use booking.com in a long while. Has anyone else had this experience?

Not expecting it, delete it and treat as phishing.
Even if you did book recently, I wouldn't click the link in the email and type in the web address manually myself (not what the email has given).0 -
THere's a similar thread in the Consumer Rights section of this site. I would just delete it.0

I received 2 of these, plus a stream of messages that were deleted. These messages came throught the messaging system on booking.com, not an email sent to me. The 1st time it happened, I called booking.com, then the hotel called me to reassure me. A few days later another scam message for the same hotel, also in the messaging system in booking.com
Obviously a scam, so I didn't click anything.I've cancelled the booking now. Not sure if it's booking.com or the hotel now, we were really looking forward to staying there, it was ideal for us with our young kids.0
