Sending tubes by Royal Mail - postage cost

I had posted a few tubes a few years back (before Covid) - they were posted as small parcels.
I have a large poster to send now and thought it would be the same so was expecting to pay £2.99 (online postage) but was surprised to see that it would now be £4.49!
When did all that change?
Looking at RM prices per their leaflet there is no section for tubes. Am I missing something here?

Tubes are mentioned on page 3 half way down, classed as medium parcel.
RM prices have increased a lot over the last few years.1 -
If you use royal mail online there is a separate option for tubes.
Interesting, when you print the label out it has 'medium parcel' on it.
I have sent short tubes ie. within the small parcel size limits as a small parcel with no problems (so far!)0 -

If it's within the small parcel sizes then putting the tube in a mail bag/envelope/box should be fine.
I guess tubes roll about on the conveyer belts at the sorting centre so are charged higher as they get processed manually?1 -
