I had 2 websites with Jimdo.
After they tried to increase the cost of the one from £60 to £220 last Autumn I contacted them and said I was not prepared to pay the rise. I transferred the content to my other website I had with them. I looked shortly after and they had removed the site from the internet.
I have now received an email from a debt collection agency demanding £220 !
I suppose its true that I never formally cancelled it, but its been deleted anyway.

Is there a question? If you don't cancel a contract you tend to have to keep paying, even if you don't use the service.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

It sounds to me that you had moved the website content from one url to the other but had not cancelled the now empty url.As you hadn't closed it then you still have to pay for it, empty or not you still had that url and could have been planning to put another, different, website on it.0

Officially emailing about cancellation is good practice to confirm things. Most of the companies do have cancellation process in billing section itself.0

I'd like to think you have good case - saying you don't want to pay the increase and them deleting the site implies they have cancelled, and means you can't use the service if you wanted too0
