My setup is to peg out my washing on two lines in my greenhouse and accompany with an airer/clotheshorse full. On a nice sunny day like today they are all dry by lunchtime.

I tumble dry everything and never iron, all clothes lovely and soft, fluffy towels. It's a heat pump drier so I justify it by thinking what I use on the drier costs, I save on the ironing costs.

And before someone says they don't iron air dried clothes, they are crispy and have way more creases, yuck, sorry not for me.

Lol.  Thanks @skmcc1960.  I often have more than will go on radiators too so am having a think of that extra upstairs set up like yours.  Will get a ball of string tomorrow.

If you are doing this it would be worth getting a cheap hygrometer (for example TP49 on Amazon about £5) and monitoring the humidity to ensure it stays below 60% to reduce the chance of mold.

Thanks. I ordered the TP157 , says it's a newer model version from the TP49.  Price difference 6 pence. It has a thermometer too.
Was searching this forum on drying clothes inside the house or flat and there's loads. Having a read on electric clothes dryers. Not sure so far as i use radiators.
One thread with people saying they have to sign in the renting agreement that they won't dry clothes in the property and have to use tumble dryer (that might be provided)

Bit uncanny that heat pump tumble dryers are being discussed in thread started this morning. I won't interrupt and mention this thread and talk about the Italian way suggestion.
