long story short.
had several parcels to post to same destination, total weight over 15kg. did a check on the RM site and had to use SD for what was required/available. Parcel Force said "next day delivery not available" and i thought nothing more about it.
SD £61.96 bought online.
when in the PO, lady said you should have used PF Consignment, multiple parcels in one job lot. £18.00ish for next day AM.
back home and checked and indeed the option was there when putting in the details - GUTTED.

i know bumping my own thread isn't the thing to do but it's a question about the service.
has anyone here used PF consignment and had PF collect from you? (btw, my username has nothing to do with PF - ParcelForce)
the reason being when you come to put in the time for them to collect it presets at 9 - 5.30.
now, you can't alter it to 9 - 11 but you can change to say 3.30 - 5.30, a 2 hour window. you can do the same and get a 2 hour slot at a few points going backwards from 5.30. if you're starting time is 9.00 then its 9 - 3.30.
do they really do a 2 hour slot in reality?0 -
You'd possibly be better off using DPD or UPS who both offer deals on multiple parcels going to one address. DPD will offer you a better collection window than Parcelforce. https://www.dpdlocal-online.co.uk/

thank you, i'll certainly have a look. i think a 2 hour window for collection is great (that PF seem to offer), i just can't believe the couriers do it, surely they collect on their round and its what time they turn up? do you have experience of a timed pickup by any couriers?
p.s do you know what limit DPD have on total weight, each item weight, total boxes for one consignment? can't check till tonight but i'm eager to have any idea.0 -

DPD have a one hour collection and delivery window. They're rarely late but if they are they tend to let you know.
I think the weight limits are the same as Parcelforce and there probably isn't a limit of boxes.
