Upholding complaints in some scenarios is fairly common with any product out there. The ASA ruling is irrelevant.

What is important are the issues relevant to the individual, not some bulk concern. If there were widespread bulk concern, the FCA would have initiated an automatic review.

As things stand, you haven't given a valid reason for complaint. And it is the complaint reason specific to the individual that matters with these things

I am only trying to help my elderly father and make others aware of their absolute disgusting regard for elderly people. There will be thousands in the same position. There is proof they mis sold these policies and if nothing else, i will make sure people are aware, far and wide. He did not have a short life expectancy at the time he took this policy. Yes, I am lucky to still have him still here. My point is. No one in their right mind would take out a policy like this. They preyed on over 50s. Mostly people who have nothing and thought it to be a fix to cover their life for funeral costs. It needs to be out there.

The only relevant factor is your father bought the policy on a non-advised basis so nobody is guilty of miselling, nobody preyed on anybody and people simply didn't read the policy.

If you can find one example of the FOS upholding such a complaint as previously claimed then please enlighten us. I can say that there are plenty where it was not upheld. Where is this proof you speak of?

He did not have a short life expectancy at the time he took this policy.

So why did he buy a product that is generally meant for people with a short life expectancy?

My point is. No one in their right mind would take out a policy like this.

You are wrong. People with short life expectancy can get good value out of them.

They are very poor value for people that don't have a shorter life expectancy.

     They preyed on over 50s.

How? They are sold on a non-advised basis. They are bought, not sold. Nobody's putting any pressure on or being preyed on.

I asked for constructive advice only. Customers that have actually experienced the same fate. Not insurance salesmen trying to discredit me and hide the fact it was a scam. There is proof and many have won their case. Please respect my wishes. Thank you

I asked for constructive advice only.

    You have received constructive advice:

    • There is no mis-selling
    • There is no scandal
    • You will be wasting your time with a complaint.

There is proof and many have won their case.

You've not yet provided any evidence of anyone winning a mis-selling complaint of the type you seem to want to make. If you have proof, share it.

There are no insurance salesmen posting on this thread. That sort of comment from you is typical of someone that's lost the argument before they've begun.

And you have been asked to provide evidence that there is proof of mis-selling and that Ombudsman have upheld complaints and we are still waiting.

For the record I'm not an insurance salesman but you don't get to say who gets to respond on a public forum.

My 'constructive advice' is to accept the fact that, in hindsigjt, your father made a bad choice in purchasing the policy and accept that nobody 'sold' it to him.

Found a few LV 50+ complaints on the FOS site, all not upheld.
