  • Any reason why Barclay's Rainy Day Saver @ 5.1% APR was not suggested as a suitable account? Too much hassle with the Blue membership and DD's?

one or two years ago I think I was looking into Rainy Day Saver as well, but I got the impression that I couldn't apply?

There are a few requirements - you need a Barclays current account with 2 direct debits coming out to cover the cost of the Blue Rewards membership, which you also need.

Or a Barclays Premier current account. If you have this you don't have to bother with the DDs or being a member of Blue Rewards but it's harder to get than an ordinary account, of course.

Thanks for the info - that option must have been added later which is why I wasn't aware of it, as being a member of Blue Rewards was the only way of getting the Rainy Day Saver when it was first released in Sept 2022.
