No, I am in the middle of the training @400ixl
we are in service and in university part time alongside and then at the end of the year - you are taken on a parmanent. Contract. 👍🏼 with the trust running the course. Thanks for you link - however trainees don’t receive student loans as we are paid monthly by the trust alongside training (paid for!) at Univeristy.0 -
LightFlare said:with funded NHS training roles, you arent typically required to pay back any fees etc -- however, as already mentioned, it may affect you ability to get future fundingTurns out this was correct. As it’s a paid, contracted role, the training is included within the package. £9k tuition fees and people can walk away at any point or once qualified? How does the NHS recruit like that?0

It used to be worse before a lot of clinical roles changed to self funded degrees.

1. if you had a claw-back option nobody would apply
2. If they leave they are probably going to end up working for the NHS somewhere else anyway1 -
Very true, good points on both.
I would have expected something to cost a trainee is they leave early but I wonder how the university and nhs work together and when a trainee leaves, how does it affect fees in reality?0 -
I wasn't directly involved, but I knew one young person who did accountancy qualifications through the NHS, and went abroad as soon as they were qualified. No financial penalty. However, I know the parents expressed the strongest hope that they would work at least try to work for the NHS on their return to the UK - which is what they are doing.Signature removed for peace of mind0
