Electoral Roll on Credit File still shows old address 3 years on!

Hello everyone,
Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to deal with this.
I moved to a new address 3 years ago and completed an electoral form within the same month as moving in. I have received things in the post since, such as voting information on local elections etc. and I have contacted the council to check my details are up to date, which they are. But 3 years on my credit file is still flagging up that I'm not on the electoral role and my last known address was my old address.
The person I spoke to at the council was not helpful at all and said there was nothing they could do, and that I should raise it with the credit reference agencies.
Is that advice correct? Or should I go back to the council and ask more questions?. I'm not what is the best way to deal with this.
Thank you
Dan
