The question will be why a suit, not many jobs require a suit anymore, normally the jobcentre will pay for a shirt/blouse, trousers/skirts, pair of shoes and a tie. All will be expected to be cheapest available unless there is a reason you need something more epxensive.

You could just try again next month and every month until you get a job
If you can justify that teh job interview requires a suit.

But I am interested to know what job you would be interviewing for that required a suit.

    It definitely makes a difference

for those trying to argue that what you wear doesn’t make a difference I would strongly disagree

So give examples of times it made a difference? Hardly see anybody in a suit and people still seem to get jobs.

If someone wants to try to argue that what you wear makes no difference in job interviews then I haven’t got the patience to argue.

but for everyone else just trust me it does make a difference

smart appearance is important. But actually I have had people tell me that by wearing a suit they believe the employer has not offered them a job, because they could not see them doing the job advertised.  The interviewer asked them why they were wearing a suit. Sounds a bit silly and of course the employer may have had other reasons not to offer a job.

It depends on what the job is. Smart retail employer or smart office job where staff wear suits, then yes I would wear a suit to an interview.  But for jobs, where staff don't wear suits normally, then I don't think wearing a suit would make any difference.  A badly fitting cheap suit the Job Centre have helped with may look worse than someone wearing trousers, shirt and tie.

The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

Do you need to prove an interview to apply for the fund for smart clothes?
