Neutral feedbacks

Options
I've had 100% positive feedback on ebay up until the last week, out of 24 items sold I've now just had 8 where buyers have left feedback, all positive apart from my first 3 neutrals,
Strange thing is the comments are:
"Great item, speedy delivery"
"good service and items"
"thanks"

No contact from any of the buyers.
I'm still showing as 100%,
Does a neutral have any impact on my account?
I'm wondering if I should bother messaging the buyers and asking then to revise (or if they have a problem they have not told me about) or if it's nothing to worry about?

  • I think it might be because rating the purchase as  positive, negative  or neutral is now the first box to tick in the feedback process.
I recently received a message from a seller where I’d left really good feedback comments but had totally missed the first part, which is neutral by default.
The seller messaged me to ask if I’d made an error in light of my comments, and asked me politely if I’d mind editing my feedback, which I did.

It’s very easy for buyers to miss the first box, so it’s worth contacting your buyers to ask them to revise their feedback.

  • I have no recent experience selling anything on eBay, but would say a couple of things:

These things do happen, and not everyone gets the scale on feedback forms.  Working in the NHS, I remember one feedback form where the patient had confused which end of the scale was good, and so the numbers suggested that I had seen them probably while on drugs, not listened to a thing they said, individually insulted not only them but everyone in their extended family, and prescribed something so inappropriate and toxic that Hazmat teams had been called in from around the country.  The comments however were super kind and positive so it was thankfully obvious what had happened.

Personally, I do get annoyed when a seller/business pesters me to give only excellent feedback, as if it matters more than the actual experience.

If you do think the buyers will not mind being asked to change their rating, then of course go ahead, otherwise maybe a visible response like "Thank you so much for the kind words" etc would make the situation obvious to others?

As far as I know neutrals have no impact on a seller's % rating, and usually if people consider a seller's feedback they'll go and have a look at what comments have been left for the neutrals and negatives.  The comments with the OP's make it clear the neutral is meaningless and if I were a prospective buyer with no knowledge of this thread, they would reassure me that those feedbacks should have been positive.

I always check the feedback to see why the seller has negatives, often its a Chinese seller and all the negative feedback
is it took over a week to arrive, I needed this by before the weekend where they bought it on Wednesday/Thursday.
Even if it was UK based the seller may have struggled with that one.

I may give neutrals a quick glance for any funny/amusing comments otherwise they just get ignored. Not a worry.
