Klarna technical problem

I made a purchase in March 2023 and Klarna was the only option to pay. I paid the full amount of £199 and 12 weeks later I received my goods as expected. I have just received an email from klarna to say there was a technical issue and my payment never taken. I have checked through my bank statement and unknown to me at the time it hadn’t gone through.
They are now demanding the money 10 months later which unfortunately due to change of circumstances I do not have that money spare.

Has anyone had this problem with klarna? Just feel annoyed as it’s their error and don’t want to have my credit score affected. Do I have any customer rights?

No, I’m afraid they are entitled to claim their money back. They have 6 years to do this. You could ask them if they would consider a payment plan to pay in instalments instead. That’s the only option.
Think of it this way. Everyone makes mistakes even large companies. If they owed you £199, would you let it go?0 -
Which site only gives Klarna as a payment option? I'm *very* surprised about that. ie. i actually don't believe it

As above, you legally owe the money, but see if they can agree that you pay it up over x months with no (or low) interest.1 -
One reason you need to keep a check on bank statements, then you would have had £199 on one side.
All you can do is ask for a payment plan. Which is something they are well versed in as it is how they work.Life in the slow lane0 -
which website only accepts Klarna - that would be very unusual0
