I received the same wireless keyboard from two people this Christmas. Both were bought from Ebuyer. Does anyone have any experience of trying to return unwanted gifts from Ebuyer? If not, is eBay the best bet?

Comments

  • My dad's had business dealings with them... from what he's said (bunch of kids in a warehouse running an over ambitious business..) i'd opt for selling it on ebay

Actually, i was popping out to buy a new wireless keyboard today...

you can always ask them, but they have no legal obligation to accept it back.
ebay is prob the best bet. but KB are not worth much generally. and there are hundreds on ebay.
(i have sold a compaq KB on ebay for 10 quid though).
    Get some gorm.
  • Find someone to give it to next christmas.... one less present to buy!

actually under distance selling regulations they do have an obligation to take it back, faulty or not, 7 or 14 days (can't remember which) is the time period you have.

But they only have to deal with the purchaser, not who they gave it to.

It is 7 days, but the chances are these items will have been purchased longer than that, and as Conor says, they are only obliged to deal with the original buyer.
  • If the item is not faulty, then it is 10 working days with the return by the original buyer at own cost and they deduct a percentage of the refund as a restocking fee.

Thanks. The 10 day thing is a little grey, as the courier company left it with the local dentist next door more than 10 days ago, but the dentist didn't give it to us until 7 days ago. Sounds like it may be worth a call to EBuyer...

To be honest, by the time you have paid return postage, and a re-stocking fee, you may as well keep it as a spare.
