Travel Insurance for “Before” the holiday

Options
We are about to book a European cruise for this coming May. At the moment we have “ordinary” insurance (not inc cruise) for Europe which expires in April. When we renew this we will obviously get Cruise Cover included which presumably covers us for incidents etc linked to the ship.
My question is, will my current policy “ordinary policy” cover us during three interim if we are unable to go for any unforeseen reason until we renew it with Cruise Cover included

If your existing policy has cancellation cover then yes, a claim under that section will be equally valid before or after adding the cruise add-on.
