    It is an issue if you leave your employment. 
    Your annual holiday leave will be apportioned according to how many months/ days you have worked in that leave year.

    If your leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December and you leave part way through that period you are not entitled to a full year’s annual leave. 

    Your employer would calculate how many days you are entitled and compare that to how many you have taken.

    If you have taken more that your entitled to you will have to pay them back for them.

    If you have not taken as many as you are due they will add payment for these days on to your last pay.

    For me, I get extra money for holiday taken. They take an average of my overtime and divide into a day rate. Then pay me that day rate extra for every holiday I take for the first 20 of my entitlement.
