What is this holiday pay people keep wanging on about?
I get a wage and "X" numbers of days leave per annum. I see no reference to holiday pay in my contract, what are people wanging on about?

Do you get paid a salary?
People who aren't salaried usually get
X hours basic pay @ £xx.xx
Y hours holidays pay @ £xx.xx
If you're salaried you won't see your holidays on your payslip as it's already taken care of in your salary.0 -
Probably your contract says you get so many days paid leave.
But if you work for 6 months of the holiday year without taking any holidays and then quit the company would be required to pay you for the holidays you accrued during that time. So might label it holiday pay on your final payslip.

I can't remember any of the employers that I used to work for listing 'holiday pay' on my payslip. They just paid me the same every month whether or not I had taken any leave. I knew I was paid for my holidays, but the payroll didn't worry about it, and expect that it would only do so if there was something special about days that you took as leave.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

That's holiday pay!If you do regular overtime, that's supposed to be reflected in your holiday pay.

Many people are on £12 per hour and the number of hours they work varies as does which days they work on so don't have a simple 25 days + BH but accrue holiday pay depending on how many hours they work etc and then get paid for time off0 -

It's tricky when you don't always work the same no. of hours each week. We have some part-time staff: we pay the hours they work. But if they only work 3 weeks in a month, they might ask for some holiday pay. Also at the end of last year we paid them for all the holiday they hadn't taken. So we listed it as holiday pay.Signature removed for peace of mind0
