Car Insurance Cancellation

My 17 year old daughter has had her car insurance policy cancelled. We have managed to find another policy at huge expense but my question is how long do you declare 'the cancelled policy' for. On all comparison sites & independent websites you are asked have you had any convictions in the last 5 years? Have you made any claims in the last 5 years? But with the cancelled policy question it asks have you ever had a policy cancelled? No time limit. Is my daughter going to be penalised for the rest of her lift? At what point can she say no???

    Yep.
Unless Insurance companies change their mind on the cancelled policies.

She will have to declare this for life as there is no time limit.  If a time limit is ever mentioned in the future then that could change but for now it is for ever.

Most insurers as if you have ever... occasionally you hear of one or two that people say only ask for in the last 10 years or such but they are outliers and haven't always checked out.

What did she do? The cancelled refers to the insurer cancelling giving you no choice, some people mistake cases where technically made a (forced) choice to cancel rather than the insurer (eg if they want to change their car to something the insurer won't insure)
