Some replies have made the assumption that you had boarding passes, but you've only said you had "confirmation in writing", so can you tell us whether you did indeed have boarding passes for the return flights, and if you did when you got them (eg before leaving the UK, printed in the resort, etc.)?
It might help to tell us the flight number and date as it's likely that some people with better knowledge/access than me can find out when the flight was originally scheduled to depart, when it actually did depart, and when the change was made.

I've not seen any assumption that the OP had boarding passes. I've read at least 2 people asking whether they did have a boarding pass for the later flight, but with no response yet. I suspect they did not and were trying to collect their boarding passes when they were denied boarding due to (in the eyes of SunExpress) them being booked on the earlier flight.
And this was not a case of a change in flight times - it was OP changing their travel from a one flight (deparitng in the morning) to an later (afternoon) flight. ie. a booking change, with different flight numbers.
