I have a new plan and a very ambitious target.

Weird things happen on Leap Days.

My plan is to pay this debt in total on Feb 29th. From pay, meagre savings and a subsequent frugal March.

  • I just picked up on your threads from a post you made elsewhere, your username rang a bell with me and on reading back, of course, the council tax and the phone call to the council!  - I can’t believe how far you’ve come in little over a year. A massive well done to you!

I will just suggest making absolutely sure that you are not leaving yourself short by clearing the final debt at the end of the month. As exciting as it is to see debt gone (we’ve all been there!) banking on a frugal following month is “almost” like using credit in a way. Better really to have the frugal month and then lay off with a flourish from money you already have, rather than from money you are hoping to save…

    Well, it's done.

The Capital One Credit Card is finally fully paid off !!

Capital One said that at this point they will close the account. If they don't I'll chase them up in a few weeks time.

    Dairy over.

    The End.

  • well done you!

You might well find it useful to keep the diary to keep your focus on now building savings rather than clearing debt - as I presume this is going to be your next goal?
