I am in the process to close down my Ltd company which was inactive for last 3 years no creditors or any other financial burden. I am going to use Voluntary Strike Off
route for this.
Is it a must to have an accountant ?? I am capable of doing the process and documentation for company closure.. Thanks

I tried to get my accountant to close my company down, they prepared the final accounts and wrote to HMRC as apparently there wasn't the option online to close in my circumstances. Cut a long story short, the accounts never appeared online and after several letters from HMRC regarding fines for non-filing of documents (which I didn't pay), the company was struck off. Not how I wanted it to end, but if you step back and do nothing, eventually the company will die off anyway.

IDK but we've had previous threads where people have had problems getting money out of business accounts after company has been closed, eg if HMRC refunds tax at a late stage. Also HMRC may object if they think the company owes them money.
So those are 2 things to check with accountant.Signature removed for peace of mind1
