I don't think it's been covered in this thread so far, but have you ruled bad wifi or substandard ethernet out of the equation? If your devices are linked to the router via bad wifi or slow ethernet standards (100mbs for example) your speeds would be artificially limited.EyeOnYou said:Hi all,
I have, what 'they' call, ultrafast fibre 145Mbs to the property. Trust me, it is by no means fast and I have 'never' had 145 download in the 2 years of being with Sky - I'm lucky if I receive 90 Mbs. My experience with Sky is, whatever they advertise you'll just about scrape two thirds of whatever they claim. Take a look on Trustpilot, it's a joke!
I get 150 download if the device is connected by wifi when close to the router.
However when connected via a mesh in another part of the house, I only get 90.
Although the difference is not actually noticeable anyway.0 -
It's simple! It's doesn't work and the figures quoted do not match the 'actual' fibre speed. But don't take my word for it, look on Trustpilot, their 1 star band is much higher than the 5 star.one and 90% of the posts are the same theme - a in my complaint.Bradden said:
Could you explain why you think it's a lie?EyeOnYou said:Bradden said:If you think the infrastucture is behind the rest of the world I'd suggest you look at America. The local cable monopolies have lead to an awful deal for customers. Many of them are still on data caps.
The cap is not the issue. The issue is loyalty and the terrible lagging speeds of Sky's so-called 'ultrafast fibre' it's not, it's misrepresented and a lie - like most UK companies selling fibre.
The only person I have ever had any joy with at Sky was a guy called Danny in the executive office he was great to deal with and got results. That said, trying to get hold of him is a joke! I have left messages and since my original post have written to Sky and had no reply whatsoever.
Their fibre is a joke and 'not fit for purpose!

The wifi is just as bad as the ethernet. It is the fibre to the property that is the issue. In my initial post, I state that there was never an issue when I was on old copper lines to the house. I was with the Post Office then on ADSL at 25mb down and 10 up and it was very good indeed. Nothing as changed in the house in terms of wiring and it is mostly CAT 7 wiring a and a 500 pound, state-of-the-art router capable of handling 10Gb connection (in my dreams).booneruk said:

Sky is a joke and anyone reading these posts and considering Sky. If you're on FTTP, you'll be lucky to get 50 to 60% of what they peddle to you.
Why MSE do not question these outfits, live on TV about their false advertising and claims I do not know. Instead, MSE actually plug these cowboys, without knowing their failings first.0
