Hello all, it's calm, dry and the sun is trying to poke through, what a change from yesterday. I had another night sitting up, I wish this cough would go away, it's like a boomerang and keeps coming back.
The DGC arrived yesterday tea time and ate anything that wasn't nailed down, DGD even asked me to teach DD how to cook crispy roasties as they were the best 😂
This morning we're going over the van to check it's ok and hasn't taken off in the wind or been submerged because the storage compound is near a river. We need to go to Dad's too, to give him lessons on how to fold his rollator 🙄
TA glad the foot is better
Camelot I'm glad you slept well.
Snoozer hope you feel better too.
taff have you given the lurgy the elbow yet, hope so. Gentle hugs.
Have a good day everyone
Take care all, stay safe and well

Good morning everyone and thanks for the start @Gers x
Haven’t managed to post for a few days, so I hope everyone is doing okay?

Work has been much better this week as Ms Moanalot has the week off. My goodness the difference it makes to the atmosphere and general working environment. I am off tomorrow and Friday as DD has her graduation tomorrow afternoon in Brighton. We will travel down as a family of 5 which will be lovely. I’m also taking Friday off as had some leave to use up. Meeting DSis in the morning and BFF in the afternoon, so it will be a full on day of chat and shopping!
Dinner tonight is chicken with tomatoes and mascarpone – a Tom Kerridge recipe that I adapt for SW. Very much comfort food mmmm.
Take care all,
Coxy

Morning...Well that was a windy night..OH was scaring me with talk of the roof of the goth box flying off, it's corrugated metal so 'm glad that never happened. I did tell him he could get on top of it and put some more screws in before the next storm. I'm out to use up my free drinks today with a friend and then probably home again to reboil the marmalade. It's not set but it's slushy, which is not good enough I'm afraid. I think a bit of lemon juice or an apple or two and a reboil will sort it out. It's very heavy on the peel too although it is very soft thank goodness. Then back in the saddle to start learning italian again. And there'll be a desk tidy to prepare for some sewing activities. I've gotten too used to sitting on the sofa doing nothing but filling time, so time to learn stuff. I spent a fair portion of yesterday watching people make salami and cured meats on youtube because I really want to learn how to make salami, I've been contemplating doing a day course somewhere too. We'll see.TA, glad to hear your foot is better, enjoy the meal out! camelot, um..maybe slow down a bit and rest? Gers, woop woop, new connectivity [ or whatever it's called these days] Coxy, sounds like fun, enjoy! nanny, still got it but it's not constant now, it's not half lingering on though..Hope youre getting better sleep or at least better naps...Izzy, hope your brusies are fading quick! Ruby, that's odd, I wonder if there's something the same in all of them that does that. Rosy, same here, I had to break out the big bin to put all the stuff blowing round in,and found someone's recycling bag that I filled with that stuff too. Glad you enjoyed your meet ups! Take care all, it's looking calmer out there but odn't be fooled!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Hi everyone - it's been a while. Rather a lot happening with us.
All change over this way. Accepted an offer on our house and we're moving out in 4 weeks' time to head north. We completed on our new house in November. My job finishes mid Feb and then we'll be packing everything in sight.
Probably just as well that I won't be working for a while - as both my parents and the in-laws are getting to the point of needing a bit more support. DH's job is going remote, so all we'll have to do is sort out the broadband and then we'll be ok.
We escaped the worst of the winds over the last two days, although there was quite a lot of small branch debris on the pavements and a few wheelie bins which had made a bid of freedom...
Breakfast was a cereal bar on the bus plus coffee from my bottle when I got to my desk. Lunch was sandwiches and fruit from home. Never realised that cheese triangles with wafer thin carrot and black pepper could be a good sandwich filling! Tea will probably be a freezer surprise. We have four drawers to empty before we move....
Hugs to anyone who needs one.
