Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers (hope the wind dies down soon for you).
The weather forecast here is looking much better today - I got very wet yesterday.
How is your foot today TA - much better I hope.
I am at the hairdressers today.
Hope everyone has a good day. x10 -
Morning. That was a wild night, nothing like my wild nights when I was in my 20s. 😀 I have heard of only one tree down locally and power infrastructure seems OK. Still, I'm glad that the storm is waning gradually. The TV man arrived at about 10a.m. and promptly got up his ladder to fix a new connector to my dish, in pouring rain. Mind you he was all wraped in his wet weather gear. Meanwhile his son set to work changing the boxes over. Downstairs was easy, upstairs box was more of a problem as that one's software wasn't up to date. Think it's been resolved so I'm happy. Then I spent some time logging into various on demand TV sites.I'm going to wait to see how the weather pans out before doing any planning. I hope that everyone is OK and not storm damaged.11

Morning folks and thanks GERS. The wind is still howling here too. The forecast says the wind is plus 50mph and set to stay with us until mid afternoon. I am thoroughly fed up of wind now. There is a wheelie in the middle of the road belonging to the sackless chap over the way. Yesterday's bin was put back on its feet but still left on the pavement. Grr!
Re my poorly foot! I am beginning to feel a fraud as this morning it's back to normal! It wasn't my ankle or a sprain it was just unbearable pain over the top of my foot. Anyway whatever it was bags of frozen veg and resting it seems to have cured it.
I am now awaiting an Oc*do delivery due any time now. All p & c again and nothing at all for the freezers apart from 2 small loaves. I am now into my 4th week of eating from the freezers and they still look almost as full as they did. So panic restocking hasn't happened yet! Youngest DGD invited herself for tea yesterday so that saw off a few chicken dippers!
At the 5th attempt since Christmas I am meeting my DF for lunch today, postponed from yesterday due to the poorly foot. I hope we finally make it as there is much catching up to be done!
Have a good day if you can folks and ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -

Morning all
Weather seems ok at the moment and we are promised to have some sun today 😃 I am off to collect Rob today and take him to work I need to stop and get some shopping on the way home which he loves to help with.
Not sure about dinner tonight will see what takes my fancy in the shop, dd is working a late shift again so just OH and I here for dinner, I need to have a hoover round before I leave this morning but otherwise house is tidy.
TA I’m glad your foot seems to be better xx
Camelot I hope you feel better soon xx
Taff it’s the Basil in Pesto that I can’t stand even the smell of it makes me feel sick, I am the same with cinnamon, cloves and Rosemary they all make me feel bad, my dad was the same, I have made pesto using dill or coriander which I much prefer x
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning to everyone
It seems to have calmed here in the N Midlands but the wind certainly woke me a few times. Looking forward to getting out for a decent dog walk later and hoping there’s not too much tree damage around.Haircut first thing then usual craft work - I’m enjoying painting some of my wooden decor and designing more - it’s still fairly experimental at the moment.

Morning all. Once again North Bucks seems to have escaped the worst of the storm although it was a bit gusty driving home last night and a few bins have been blown about.
Off to do my stint in the Larder this morning, plus our local councillor is looking into setting up a Community Fridge, so might offer to help with that, depending on time and place. Have defrosted some salmon to have with roasted veg tonight.
Yesterday my dental appointment turned out to be drilling out a tooth and putting in a temporary crown. The permanent crown will take a couple of weeks to arrive then I'll have to have that fitted. It was fascinating having the fitting for the permanent crown as she used a high tech hand scanner to go all around the area - no more ghastly squidgy gunge on a plate like one I had done many years ago!
Hope the weather calms down for everyone today and Snoozer continues to get over her Covid.

Morning all, that was a wild and windy night! A shortened walk for pooch this morning - I didn't want to linger too long in the wooded area across the road in case something hit me on the head. I moved quite a few smaller branches that were on the pavement, and I wasn't happy when I opened the front door to see some of the contents of a bottle bin blown right upto the front door. Some cans and tins a bit further up the road had wedged between the pavement and cars, so when we got back in I got my litter picking head on and put it all in our bin.Its still outside as it wasn't emptied yesterday.Busy day yesterday, my lunch here with 2 cousins finally happened, which was lovely. We ate, chatted and finally dug the family trees out for a bit of collaborationWe went to our football match last night, midweek is a bit late for the DGC so DS2 came instead, nice to have a family outing - doesn't happen very often! Met up with DB2 as usual, and his DGS but my niece had tonsillitis and her mum stayed at home with her.Tea was quick and easy using leftovers. I'll need to get something out of the freezer today, gaps are appearing but not a great lot of meat left, apart from joints that I don't want to use midweek!Hope you are all safe, take care x

Morning everyone
Wild and windy through the night and still blowing this morning.
I'm having a lazy start sitting in bed with my breakfast. The wind is meant to drop this afternoon so I'll pop out for some shopping later.
I keep signing up to survey sites and then forgetting to do them so I'm going to have a look through them this morning - I seem to have been trying to get 5000 points to get £50 from Yougov for so long now!
Glad to hear your foot is better TA, I hope you manage to get your lunch today
Hope everyone has a good day x13 -
Morning All
Hope you are all safe from the storms, wasn't too bad here although I took some cough medicine before I went to bed so not sure how bad it was! Everything seems to be in it's place and just a bit breezy.
I'm having another day off although I do feel much better this morning after a good nights sleep, I've even managed to clean the bathrooms and have a hoover round. Thanks for your good wishes.
Pleased to hear your foot is better TA, what a mystery.
Brave workmen Gers, glad it's done.
Hope you're feeling better snoozer.
Shower and sofa for me next, may need my heated throw as all the windows are open to give everywhere a blow through.
Take care. XX
