How to get company receipt

Options
Hello,

I can't be the only one to have this problem but I can't find out how to solve it. My husband and I have a newly formed limited company. The address is registered at my accountants and so is the banking. That is causing a problem with wanting to shop online because they will not deliver to an address not linked to the card. I really can't have everything going to my accountant so what do other people do?

I asked my accountant and he said I should  pay with my own card, get the invoice made payable to the company, then pay myself from the company. Preferably on the same day for the exact amount. Great - but with everything being online you cannot actually speak to someone to say what you want. I even tried "Click and collect" but they do not have what I want.

Can anyone help me?

Your bank will normally be able to hold the registered address and the trading address for the business, the later is where stuff is posted to etc and used for AVS

No idea why you'd need to do your expenses daily, obviously it has to be for the right amount

Simple solution is to change the bank address to the operating address for the business.
  • Thank you both - I don't want to change the address for the company and the bank (Tide) would not let me have a different one. They said I had to change it all at Companies House. My accountant suggested I do it the same day so I didn't forget  - he knows me!

When you order things online,  include the company name as the first line of the delivery address.
    That should work.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

You don't change the address, it's an additional address. Business frequently have a registered office which may or mayn't be where they are located and then a trading address which is where they want stuff sent.

I was on the message/chat with someone this morning and they would not let me do that. Someone else had told me about registered and trading addresses but Vik would have none of it.

I will put the company name in the first line of the address and see if that works.

Not all companies will let you add delivery addresses, although I've found very few recently which don't. However, when I was working we had company credit cards for those who needed them: when we set them up we had to give each employee's personal address. We then changed this, once the card arrived, to be the business address.

But this gives me another, simple, solution - apply for a credit card in your name, your address, and do ALL your business transactions using that one card, and do NOT use it for any personal spending. Then just submit the monthly bill for reimbursement - or if you can't wait, then do it as you make each spend, but at least if you forget anything you can check it off on the bill. You could also set up the DD each month to come from your business account - although your accountant is likely to want to see the receipts.

Even better if you make it a cashback card ...
