Grandparent Childcare benefits

We are about to look after our granddaughter for 2 days a week. We are both retired and already claiming our pensions. There appears to be some allowable NI benefit if you are yet to claim your Govt Pension but is there any benefit that we can claim?

There are no benefits for "babysitting", that is what post retirement grandparents are for :)

If a grandparent is under pension age and not working, but looking after a grandchild while parents  work they may be able to NI credits  towards thier state pension.

They can only get these if the person claiming child benefit does not need the credits.

There is no money involved , only National Insurance credits , which do  not apply in your case as you are retired

My comment are the same as Sheramber.
The only caveat would be if you are not getting full state pension it may be worth having the NI credits
