Trekking / altitude holiday insurance

Options
My current holiday insurance covers me for trekking and altitude up to 4000m.

I am trekking in Peru in June and on one day, I trek to 4215m and camp overnight and then go down to below 4000m.

is there an insurance company that would cover me for just this day?

In my climbing days, although that was some years ago "when I were a lad", had a policy via British Mountaineering Council. Check out what they now offer. There are probably other specialist companies out there.

Are you going with a particular travel company, if so do they offer any cover?

If your trek goes above 4000m you need to be appropriately insured. I'm not convinced your current insurance would cover any of your trek. Is it something you wish to test? Would be a very expensive mistake if something happened and your insurance didn't pay.

Have you asked your current provider if you can temporarily upgrade cover? Or just get a policy that definitely covers you for the trip?

This question was posted back in January, the person only made this and 1 other post and never has been back... whilst their trip hasn't happened yet so they could still be looking it was just a newly registered member resurrecting an old thread.

Just noticed that thanks. Strange, a few very old posts being oddly resurrected recently....
