    Hello OP

Issue with court and LTD is the LTD may fold if you win.

How long has the LTD been running, does it have many assets listed in the year accounts, has the director been associated with many other companies in the past? (Searching Companies House online using company name or number will give you the info for these questions).

It's a difficult one and a personal choice as to risk vs reward.

I see there was a suggestion on the motoring board regarding a fix, in addition not sure what a replacement key costs but that would be a smaller claim than rejecting the whole van.

    Thanks for the reply

Yes aware company may fold, that this is a trick that is used frequently

The LTD has been running since 2021, only one director who resigned in June 2022, when present director was appointed

Not listed on any other company

Company has presently over 30 commercial vehicles listed on their website with an approximate value of £10,000 each

    Accounts

Next accounts made up to 31 May 2023
    due by 29 February 2024

Last accounts made up to 31 May 2022
    Confirmation statement

Accounts made up to 31 May 2022 were for a dormant company

Next statement date 16 March 2024
    due by 30 March 2024

Last statement dated 16 March 2023

Dependant on the outcome of the formal letter it may be better with a smaller claim
    Thinking on the lines of
£300 cost of key and programming
£150 rectify non start, if simple fix
Cost of full service at dealership

Look at somewhere like WBAC and do a dummy sale with full service history and then change to no service history and see the difference

At a rough estimate should make total claim around  £2,000

It is a tough decision to make
