How to get British Gas to acknowledge the correct not incorrect meter?

Does anyone know how to get BG to acknowledge the correct meter for a flat and desist in billing for the wrong meter? It is 1 year since I validated with physical test evidence, with the attendance of the original fitter, with the subsequent attendance of a BG engineer, who agreed and said they would take care of it, which one is the correct meter, but despite long correspondence they have still not yet corrected their records and billed for the indisputably correct meter. What does it take?

Have you followed BGs complaints process?

We had a similar issue. It was a property we use for storage, so no heating no hot water.
Someone at British Gas had read the meter in 2022 and read it as 94120, but when they input the read at whatever system they used, they entered 9420. 2023, we sent a meter reading and a picture to show the reading. As we had not used it is was exactly as it was in 2022. They wanted to give us a bill that they estimated would have been between 50 and 60k ( they may have been exaggerating ); either way, it would have been terrible.
The reason I am saying this is that we had to go down their complaints route. https://www.britishgas.co.uk/complaints.htm We pay on direct debit, so I was panicking that they would take this massive amount out and I would not be able to pay it. It took some time and loads of phone calls, I think I called every day for about a week, but they did find the image of the original meter read and amended the bill.
Good Luck

Go down the complaints route to make them take notice.
I helped someone sort their billing (BG were still billing them on an old gas meter that had been replaced a few years ago) and phoned BG a couple of times to correct the meter details. It was only when I requested a complaint was raised the 2nd time I phoned that they took action.1
