Hi - we're preparing some updated info for MSE about school holiday MoneySaving
One-off term-time inset days, often for teacher training, vary by school and with careful planning can be a boon for cheaper holidays, especially long weekends away.
We'd love to hear ... have you ever grabbed a cheaper holiday this way and how much did you save?

Not a big saving, but back in the days of the Millennium Dome (remember that?) the 2 youngest had an INSET day which happened to coincide with Sports Day for the eldest. He's not sporty, suffers from dreadful hay fever, and is liable to sunburn so I had no guilt about taking him out of school for the day.
Seemed like the perfect day to visit grandparents and the Dome, on a hopefully quieter day because it wasn't school holidays.
