Now Mortgage Free - what next

Hi, just a a quick bit of advice. I have paid off my Mortgage this January but what should I do next. The letter from Natwest says about title deeds and that I can view them online for £3 - so I case it is just a case of paying for this and double checking that all the information the land registry hold is correct - this will protect any potential fraud against the property in the future? Is that correct? Is there anything else I need to do apart from enjoying a bit more freedom?

Congratulations! I had similar questions last year as I just got a letter from the bank saying that the mortgage had been cleared and nothing else.
You can register for a property alert for changes to your registry documents for free on the land registry: https://propertyalert.landregistry.gov.uk/My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

Your title deeds should already be in your name, your conveyancer should have taken care of this when you bought your house, unless something has changed?PierremontQuaker03 said:Hi, just a a quick bit of advice. When you buy the house, the title will be in the name of you and your mortgage company. They then remove their interest in it from the title once the mortgage is paid off. So yes, all you need to do is pay the £3 and check their name has been taken off, but I'd give it a bit of time to be processed firstArcherychick said:
