Adding telephone point

Hi,

Please can anyone tell me if you are allowed to add your own telephone point?

I have a telephone point in one upstairs bedroom but would like to add one to another bedroom so it can double as an office - can I do this myself (if so any tips welcome) or must I ask BT to install this?

Many thanks.

  • You can buy an extension kit in any DIY shop. A BT line can only handle 4 devices (phones, faxes, Sky boxes, computer fax modems, etc.) regardless of how many extensions you have.

If you just need a phone in the office you could buy a set of cordless phones and avoid having to hide the wire.
