I'd like to be able to edit pdf documents on my old macbook pro laptop. It can run 32-bit and 64 bit software (it uses 10.14 Mojave).
I once used to have  Adobe Acrobat - is this still the only option and if so, what's the cheapest way of getting it?

It's not been the only option for a very long time.

What do you actually want to be able to do? Just fill in forms you've received? Edit the existing text? Add/remove pages?

Apple's Preview can do a fair amount for filling in forms, adding/removing pages but limited in editing existing text etc

I use PDF Expert for anything beyond this but it's gone up in price a lot since I bought a perpetual license but still cheaper than Acrobat.

Preview does a lot, but I need to edit text, which is beyond its powers.
Thanks for this suggestion. However it requires MacOS 12 way above my computer's abilities.
