Vertical radiator and TRV

Hi everyone, after a bit of advice. I'm planning to add a (Stelrad) vertical radiator:

The piping options are as follows:

The options show that I can have ceiling drops to feed the radiators (and minimise chasing pipe runs) inc. the option to use the middle connections.
Question is, can I still use a TRV? The TRV shown in the first pic is a centre tap TRV, which would fit in quite well.

Yes you can use a TV at the top of the radiatior. Top feeding also has the benefit that any rust/crud is more likely to remain in the radiator than be transported around. I would go with inflow and out flow at either end.0

Sounds good, would there be any issues in heating the room if the TRV is close to the ceiling, since heat rises?0

I have a vertical radiator & the TRV is fitted so that it works in reverse. As in 1 is highest & 5 is lowest.

No issues, you may have to set it a little different to what you would if it was lower, behind furniture, if the radiator is in a corner of a room etc. But in the end you just turn the dial to what make you feel comfortable when you are in the middle of the room or where ever you want your datum point to be.valmiki said:Sounds good, would there be any issues in heating the room if the TRV is close to the ceiling, since heat rises?1 -

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
