Jax (above) and her brilliant Tarka team will show you everything you need to get hands-on on a pottery wheel, or to hand-build and glaze your piece with your chosen colours and patterns. • A full 6-hour day in the studio with a flexible, enjoyable schedule in whatever order suits you. Throwing is often the first choice and if so, you begin with learning how to prepare clay ready for a few hours on a potter’s wheel.
• In the afternoon you can continue to throw pots or choose to try a hand-building technique such as coiling or slab building. We’ll show you several project ideas to get your creative juices flowing. In addition, you’ll get to experiment with textures, slip decoration and glazing.
• You get to glaze one of your creations to keep (extra pots can be glazed and fired for an additional charge).
• Includes all materials, decorating and glazing one of your finished projects yourself, tuition and use of tools, equipment and firing of one project.
• Valid Wednesday – Saturday subject to availability.
• The whole experience lasts for 6 hours (tea/coffee available, lunch not included).
