Morning folks and thanks GERS. I am a latecomer but sadly it's not because of sleeping in. It was the usual silly o'clock and then wide awake.
I have been charging up what I can just in case of power cuts. Last winter, thanks to one of the storms, we were without leccy up here for about 17 hours. It seemed endless but DS and DD kept me supplied with flasks of coffee, soup and sandwiches to keep me going! We are on the cusp of yellow and amber warnings hereabouts so it's pot luck which we end up with. Short of sitting on the roof to anchor it down I have prepped as much as I can! The same can't be said for the dope across the road who permanently leaves his wheelies next to the road in direct line of fire of the winds. He never learns despite them crashing over every time, leaving the contents to blow all over. Grr!
According to forecast the worst of the storm is due to hit us just after lunch and stick around until tomorrow morning. That'll mean another sleepless night.
Have as safe a day as you can folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad and lonely. Take care all and I hope you all keep safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Hello all, it's raining and warmer here with a yellow warning for the wind, oo-er missus !
I didn't get the jigsaw started yesterday but watched "The boat that rocks" again, love that film. How come I know all the words to all the songs yet I can't remember what day it is ?
I forgot to take any meat out for today so I'll have to do a freezer dip, there's loads in there we can have. The dw needs emptying this morning and I'll wipe down the kitchen, then I'm having a lesson on how to use the new TV 😂
taff thank you too, I'll take a rain check on your offer if I may.
Take care all, stay safe in the bad weather.

Morning All
The weather isn't too bad this morning but due to get quite wild this afternoon/evening. Last night was quite rough, I had to close the bedroom window as it was too noisy!
I've woken up feeling a bit off colour - tickly cough and headache, a day for doing nothing I think although I have just been out for supplies and to post a couple of birthday cards.
Bed changed and the bedding washed and on the airer, will move it by the fire later when it's lit. I'm going to sell the double bed in the front bedroom and get a king size one as the DS's struggle as they are so tall so I changed over the mattresses as that one is newer than mine. It was a struggle but I made it!
Have a peaceful Sunday and take care. XX10 -
Hi everyone,
I'm feeling a bit better today although I was up for several hours in the night. Laura and Esther were up for a while as well, Esther is suffering with her canines.
Steve is continuing clearing the loft, Laura went through the clothes we had stored up there, some of which dated back to when she was modelling at the turn of the millennium. She kept a few keepsakes but most of it went which was great.
Brian made dinner last night, a Mexican chicken dish and I'll get Steve to do tonight. I haven't got much appetite though.
Hugs to all the poorly people.
Have a good day.x
