Morning allHope you and your home escape any damage due to the storm @Gers xHad a lie in until 6.05am this morning whoopeee!Have just received an email from T***o telling me my shopping order for this morning has been cancelled. Not happy. Have been lucky enough to re-order it for tomorrow evening. I bet many people won't be so lucky if they're not quick. No explanation either just a sorry.Dinner will be steak pie, mash and veg and I've taken out one of a batch of apple crumbles that I froze late last year.Have a good day all and keep safe if you're in the eye of the storm x10

The rain lashed down from late evening until early morning and there's worse to come. I feel like a mini prepper, brought wood in, charged mobile etc. I may have over-reacted a tad but I'm the type to have chocolate, water and blankets in my car permanently. Many years ago I broke down on the A69 on an extremely snowy and cold day and it paid off when waiting for the AA. Anyway, I'm ready.Yesterday I made another big pot of lentil soup. This time I added in a pouch of Cajun lentil and kidney beans to the mix, rather too spicy for me but I always put a dollop of sour cream or Greek yoghurt to it before eating so that should dial the heat down. I've almost cleared down the video boxes by either watching or deleting programmes.I hope that everyone is safe and warm in the coming hours. The wind is rising again here already. Take care folks.10

Morning all
Already windy here but we’re ‘only’ on a yellow weather warning. Will walk little dog earlier as he hates the wind in the trees (lots of trees round here!). Was relatively productive yesterday but need to carry in today - lots of craft projects at the half-done stage and my little online shop has been super busy (for me) so work to do on that too.Dinner is a new-to-me fish dish - cod with a crust made with herbs and ground almonds with a yoghurt/caper dressing. Not sure about it myself but DM and DF fancy a change so the ‘chef’ will oblige.I’ve also got to do so prep for a Pensionswise telephone call tomorrow - been procrastinating that one as no space to sort out the paperwork needed.Have a good day day and stay safe in any bad weather

Morning all,
Stay safe all who have strong winds. We are forecast to get them this afternoon, like AA we are surrounded by trees.
It is nice to be back chatting with you all again. Snoozer, sorry to hear you have covid and feel rough with it.
We had nice visits with mum and dad yesterday, dad was awake which was good. The previous day they could not wake him up at all. Mum is loving all the extra company and activities.Today, I try to treat Sundays as rest days, so I will work on my grocery shop, hopefully being delivered tomorrow. Plus I need to restart the crochet throw I am making for my sister. I could not relax enough since August.
Take care all.

Morning everyone and thank you Gers for starting us off.
Weather here atm is ok. It's much warmer with a breeze - hope it stays like that.
Has anyone heard from JackieO - I haven't seen any posts from her this year?11 -
As I was preparing my breakfast eggs it occurred to me that when I was a child all hens eggs were white, nowadays they are almost 100% brown. Do we think that brown eggs are more nutritous? This is because I bought white ones. Yes, it's an idle thought!@Iris - Jackie is posting loads on the Decluttering thread as she's busy getting ready to move house later in the year. She's as happy as pig in muck. The whole of Scotland is under an amber warning for this afternoon onward. Heavy rain first then the storm winds to follow. Batten down the hatches.10

Morning everyone stay safe and warm we haven’t got the storm yet it’s on it’s way later today it’s not as cold today that’s something I need to pop out for yogurt before it starts raining. I’ve got a little beef joint cooking and I need to make a pan of soup for lunches next week AA your dinner sounds lovely definitely something I would like peony I think it takes a lot of the worry away when you see your parents settled like that Gers it’s always best to be prepared I don’t think you can take the weather for granted it’s something we have no control over well I must get a wriggle on or I’m not going to do anything. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

It's ok Gers I've found it. xx6 -
Good morning everyone. I have not ventured out yet but it seems warmer today. We are on a yellow warning for the wind and rain through until Wednesday, I hate the gusting wind as it rattles round the house.
Washing is in the machine and a quick dust and vacuum before going to see my poorly SIL.
Nothing else planned for today.
Thoughts are with the poorlies and worried or sad.
Take care xx11 -
Morning all
Weather is set to get wild here too later we are on an amber warning from this evening till tomorrow evening, luckily we have the log burner if the power goes out and a stove top kettle to make a drink stay safe everyone.
Yesterday I had a busy day indoors doing lots of little jobs that have needed doing for a while but never seem to get round to, one of them was to re blacken the log burner and hearth it looks much better now, OH cut the hedge in the back garden which looks a lot better now, we wanted to get it done before the birds started nesting.
Dinner today will be a roast beef with veg and roasties and Yorkshire pud’s 😃 dd is on a late shift at work but I will do enough for tomorrow’s dinner too so she can have some then.
Snoozer sorry to hear you have covid again hope it’s not too bad xx
Nan thinking of you xx
Have good days and stay safe in the storm xxx11
