One of the victims I am helping elsewhere,  who received 2 PCNs in 2024 because the auto-pay system failed has just received a LBC from Moorside Legal demanding £340.
    Parking charge notices or PNs?

    From which PPC?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I picked my parents up from Gatwick airport and forgot to pay the pickup fee. This happened on the 5/4/2,4 and I only received the PCN today, the 23/4/24. The letter states that I can pay a reduced fee of £60 if I pay within 14 days from the date given.  Just seems so extortionate in comparison to £6.  My entry time has been recorded as 12:41 and exit 12:48 as I was picking my dad up and had to wait for wheelchair assistance to bring my dad out

Appeal to NCP and simply tell them that you are the Keeper and there's nothing they can do about their charge. As long as you don't reveal the identity of the driver, that will be the end of it.

It's all in the Newbies/FAQ thread.

Just get the recipient of the letter (you, the keeper?) do what is explained earlier in this thread. As long as you DON'T add any words that imply who was driving, they will cancel.

    Yes.

Then you put in the appeal words early in this thread.

Hello, I am not sure if to start another thread but have reviewed the standard wording/template. I am yet to find one for my exact situation.....  I took have received a PCN as the Hirer of VRN xxx for contravention Use of Drop Off Zone without making valid payment... Heathrow T3 etc.

As I am not the registered keeper and seemingly have been identified as the driver / Hirer what is the best wording to use. Most of the responses in standard letter apply except for this main one and I'll be cornered and give the game away if I say I'm registered keeper as I'm clearly not.

Please advise, it is an interesting twist.

    Kind regards,
    K

    Either

    - use the hirer appeal in the NEWBIES thread (in the bit about company cars at the end of the first post of that Announcement)

    or

    - change this thread's template to make sense and say you're the 'hirer' (not keeper and DEFINITELY not driver!).

    Hi all,
    My scenario is...
    • Dropped off at Manchester Airport, on Tuesday (was there less than 5 mins).
    • Paid the £5 online the following day, but put the wrong date - it was off by 2 days.
    • The system is so poor that it doesn't use the times captured on ANPR to make sure your payment is correctly attached to a parking event
    • Got a PCN saying pay up or else. Bizarrely, I can pay £5 within 14 days or it will go up to £100
I have fought many tickets in the past and won on appeal but one went to CC and I won (thanks to all the great info on here).

I'm happy to use the template appeal at the top of this thread as keeper, but do I mention that parking was paid for but put the wrong date?
My logic is that they can verify only one visit was made (Tuesday) and the date paid for (Thursday) didn't happen, so should be a win on those grounds alone (assuming they are reasonable, which they probably aren't)?
Is there any downside to saying £5 was paid for the wrong day, does that admit any kind of liability?

I would pay the reduced £5 for an easy life but these parasites bring out the stubborn b**tard in me :)

    Any advice appreciated.

You can add it as long as you don't say words like "I paid". There's actually no point in adding it though. Not needed.

This is why we don't advise adding anything; people blow the whole thing by cheerfully adding a sentence that implies they were driving.
