New Year Resolutions

I was just wondering what new year resolutions everyone have if any.
Mine are;

1. Keep to the 2008 neutral challenge, selling on ebay etc for christmas/birthdays.

2. Enter as many competitions as possible (setting aside a certain time each week)

3. Check the freebie board more frequently (had some great freebies this year and want to make sure it continues as been a little slack coming up for christmas).

4. Use all my craft items up ready to sell next christmas as I left it far too late this year :( and have boxes of bits sitting around cluttering up the house. So I'm going to start on Christmas 2008 sewing tomorrow :)

5. Find myself a new job.

6. Have another look on online gambling through MSE of course to try to get to grips with it.

Hi sally savings, mine will be to get on top and keep on top of my housework mainly ironing & washing. Eswpecially as I have my new TD. Can't think of anymore yet but I think they should be simple and then it makes it easier to keep.

  • Mine is to carry on cycling. I have lapsed rather the past month, due to cold/wet weather, christmas parties and preperations and work.
Started off well this morning going for a painful hours cycle.
The other resolution is to work all overtime offered as I need the money. The trouble is it cuts into my cycling energy.
    Well I will try.

I promised myself a general 'de-clutter'..............much needed. Be a hard job as I'm the worlds worst for hoarding but it has to be done so at least I can find things when I want them. Drawers and stuff are chaos at the minute.
Two lots of stacking storage boxes that are full of I don't know what need clearing out as well.

Start making cards and pressies in January (or maybe Feb) for birthdays and christmas. Looking at the Gift basket thread there's some great money saving ideas.

Keep a spending diary.............I don't spend a lot but every time I get my pension I get lured into the charity shop and come our with a bagful of something. Must justify my spending a bit more.

Try and keep to a housework routine (boring as it may be)

Sort out household paperwork when it arrives and not wait till the letter rack is about to fall over

Organise my Family Tree papers so they make sense not just to me

Think thats about it.........................wore me out now just reading it..............lol

  • Mine are
    1. To stop biting my nails. I do this one unsuccessfully every year. Tradition!
    2. To lose some weight. Think I'm going to try Slimming World this time.
    3. I'm also going for the 2008 money neutral challenge. Got a really busy year with 2 weddings. One my brothers and one at the other end of the country so requires a stay. Lots of other things too so this challenge will be a great help.

I really want to stick to all these resolutions. Would love to have nice hands, they are the only thin part of me (at the mo) and look ugly cause of the badly bitten nails.
    Nothing to declare ;)
  • My new year resolutions really only last from jan to mar for 2008 as bump is due to arrive 22nd mar lol

    I promise before they arrive:
    • Declutter the house
    • Eat as healthily as possible - keep mobile to make labour easier :rotfl:
    • Try and do all my selling on ebay
    • Make all my birthday cards for 2008 and get as many baskets as poss started in january sales

    Where do i start...
    1. Walk more and hopefully do snowdon and ben nevis.
    2. Carry on eating healthily.
    3. Budget when i do my supermarket shopping and only go once a week.
    4. Stop impulse buying and worrying about it afterwards.
    5. Keep on top of the housework.
    6. Be more patient when my husband comes off nights!!
    7. Always take my make-up off before bed (yuck i know)
    8. Pay off husbands overdraft and a chunk off my credit card

the list goes on, but i wont bore you anymore!!

    Life's way too short!

  • Ok - have been thinking about these for a while:

    1. usual suspects - lose weight and do more excercise.
    2. take packed lunches to work instead of spending £5 a day!!

    3. Cook more at home instead of ready/micro meals or eating out

    4. Cook & freeze babies meals instead of buying ready made!

    5. Be less generous with biscuits at work (as I am the only one who buys them)!

    6. Open up bills a/c and allow myself just a few £££'s spend a week.

    7. Save as much as I can and get rid of old bills and debts as much as poss

    8. Save as much as I can via quidco, tesco clubcard & boots points

    9. Try & keep up to date with my ironing or if I cant - sort out someone to do it for me (instead of leaving it in a pile in the basket all the time)

    10. Get my head into my studying and start taking my financial planning exams and qualify asap!!

    PHEEEEWWWWW!
