Morning all, we've got some heavy rain now, and upto 4 deg. It'll take a while for the ice under the snow to melt though, the main roads are fine though. DGS football is off, they were hoping overnight rain might clear the pitches, but obvs not enough - he'll be disappointedI need to pop to a sm this morning as I forgot a few things, then a bit of tidying and relax after for the rest of the day hopefully. No idea what's for tea yet.Gers, we finished Reacher last night too, DH has read all the books, the series has been much better than the film, if a tad gruesome at times.Enjoy your birthday lunch WL, and taff your postponed Xmas do.Peony good to know your parents are settled.Hugs to those poorly needing one Nan,Snoozer,dp1,Gers, sorry if I forgot anyone, take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning! Well, it's a tiny bit less brass monkeys but I still intend to light the fire when we get back from the delayed Christmas and birthday meal. Looking forward to it, I'm hungry already. I woke up with a sore throat, hoping it doesn't turn into anything and just burgers off by itself. I wrapped all the presents last night, so almost last minute but not quite and now the table is clear I intend to do some sewing and make a list of projects. There's some mending, some clothing making, some crochet stuff, so I'll definitely not be idle. I ripped all the pvc covers off the windowsills downtairs yesterday, I'm thinking about just repairing the original wood windowsills instead of replacing, we'll see. They're not in great shape, but woodfiller, sanding, painting and trim will make a difference and be a whole lot cheaper than getting someone in to do it. Messy though.snoozer, ho dear, fingers corssed for a mild version! Rosy, have a nice relaxing day for a change, shame about the footie! TA, why don't you try yak traks or similar? Even if you don't go out out they're still useful for just little jobs outside the house..peoony, glad your parents are better where they are now..camelot, I have a new rule now, if I'm not enjoying it, I'm not going to keep reading, life's too short to read rubbish books
WL, have a nice postponed birthday! iris, if your clothes turn into icicles, we need pics!
Gers, the cost of living has hit everywhere, people always tighten their belts with unecessaries first, shame there's no eat out to help out now isn't it...when it'd be actually useful and not dangerous. Izzy, rest and relax, let your brusies heal a bit
Take care all, stay out of the wind and rain...

Hello all, we had a lovely evening with DD, it doesn't happen often as there's always a DGC in tow ! Tea was devoured and then we watched home movies from when the DGC were little, there were lots of ooo's and ahhh's and "remember that ?", plus lots of laughter too. I slept well last night and apparently I was coughing in my sleep, but it didn't wake me.
I'm having a quiet day and I might get my new jigsaw down and make a start on it but at the moment I'm too comfy sat on the sofa, maybe later ? Tea tonight will be an easy bacon, eggs, sausages etc.
Snoozer oh no. So sorry you have covid, look after yourself and give the orders tucked up in your sick bed !
Peony lovely to see you back and I'm glad that your parents are settled.
Rosy sorry that the football is cancelled for DGS, mine gave away a penalty when he took the opposing player down last week with a sliding tackle and won "man of the match" in the same game !!
Have a great day if you are going out somewhere special.
Take care all, wrap up warm
nan xx

So many posters still with continuing or new lurgies - hope everyone feels better soon.I’ve dog walked - managed our ‘normal’ walk which turned into an ankle deep mud bath, it’s still partially frozen so was ok - I expect it’ll be back to mud soon. Already quite windy and storm due tomorrow I think.Drains cleared (!) and a shelf repositioned in the garage so some jobs done.Craft shop work for the rest of the day. A piece of very tasty Christmas ham for dinner so that’s easy.Take care all
